Tolman - Loveland House

About two weeks ago I posted a winter photo of this house taken in 2002. It is interesting to see what changes have taken place in the last 18 years, besides the snow and rabbit tracks disappearing. The big trees are gone and a shrub and an outhouse have been added. The house was built in 1896 of locally crafted bricks by Judson Tolman and sold in 1898 to Carlos Loveland. Chesterfield was a Mormon agricultural town abandoned and now partially restored by descendants of the original residents. Chesterfield was a victim of harsh winters, isolation, and the demise of small farming communities replaced by much larger farms.
