As though I had wings

“I want to think again of dangerous and noble things.

I want to be light and frolicsome.

I want to be improbable, beautiful and afraid of nothing,

as though I had wings.” - Mary Oliver

Mary Oliver is my all time favourite poet. As some of you may have noticed, I freakin' love words and poetry. This is not a new thing - I remember being 14 and spending all my time on Bebo reading angsty quotes about love, life and spurning the people who didn't recognise nor understand you. Ahh, good old Bebo. Good old teenage Rosie.

The last two (ish?) years my obsession for poetry has grown and spun like cobwebs from my mouth, "ink runs from two sides of my mouth, for I have been eating poetry" ;) I read it all online, save it to a little document, and read through all my favourites every day, pretty much. That's the other wonderful thing about this project, I get to create pictures to fit my favourite pieces of writing and poetry!

One of my favourite things to do with my love was to stay up late and read him all my new poems I'd found, and we'd sit and talk about them and he'd tell me which resonated with him and which he didn't understand. We'd do our own translations and climb into each other's minds. It was wonderful. So now, you guys have to deal with it all instead :-)
