Mervyn's Coaches R959RCH

Monday 30/12/2019 saw the last bus services operated by Hampshire operator Mervyn's Coaches of Innersdown near Micheldever. Mervyn's called time on their bus routes after 33 years stating that they are no longer viable to run.

 

Broadly speaking, their routes ran Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays offering 2 return trips from the villages of East Stratton, Micheldever, Stoke Charity and into Winchester via Springvale and Kings Worthy. Additionally, on Mondays there was a lunchtime extension to Kempshott Sainsbury's near Basingstoke.

 

Normally a fully accessible Volvo B7RLE / Plaxton Centro bus was used on the services but this wasn't available so the last day honours fell to Volvo B10M-48 / Plaxton Premiere C43F R959RCH (since sold).

 

Routes operated were:

95 East Stratton (09:32) - Winchester Broadway (10:10);

96A Winchester Broadway (12:00) - Sainsbury's Kempshott (12:53);

95A Sainsbury's Kempshott (14:15) - Winchester Broadway (15:00);

96 Winchester Broadway (16:45) - East Stratton (17:21).

 

Stagecoach South took on the service from 03/01/2020 and Mervyn's have continued as a coach operator.
