Reversing Tiger
The inaugural 'Icebreaker' bus running day was held in Newbury on New Year's Day, 2016. Organised by The Oxfordshire Bus Enthusiasts Society, around 15 buses attended and most operated on a trio of free services from the bus station into West Berkshire. Despite some inclement weather in the afternoon, the event proved to be an excellent way to kick off 2016!
Here, former Gwyn Williams of Tumble 68-seat former MoD Leyland Tiger / Plaxton Derwent 3000 YIL8181 is seen reversing out of a bay at Newbury bus station. The bus began life as 03KJ30 complete with set of rear doors. On leaving the MoD it gained the mark G828XWS in 1998 before becoming YIL8181 in 2007.
