Halo

On our way up to Bend we stopped at Crater Lake for the night. It had snowed all day, and the lake was totally obscured by low clouds when we arrived. The next morning,Father's Day, I woke up before dawn, and found this fresh snowbank on the crater's edge. There was a huge mass of clouds behind me coming in from the west, and these thin clouds were part of the leading edge of the approaching front. At first I was disappointed to not have a full blown cloud deck over head, but when this arching halo of thin clouds lit up with the rising sun I was beyond happy.

It was a great way to start off Father's Day, and a great way to start off our Oregon vacation.

Thanks for looking!
