Police and Thieves
The low fog season has begun, and for a change Nick and I decided to shoot it all the way from Twin Peaks. I had my 600mm in tow, and this perspective had been on both of our bucket lists for a long time. The night was warm with a 90% full moon shining down, and between 50 and 75 people were up there enjoying the view and partying. It was midnight, and I was a little thrown off on how many people were up there. Nick and I set up our gear and started shooting. We were stoked with the shots we were getting, and it seemed like it was going to be a great night. Around 2 a.m. Nick was talking to me while I was looking through my camera. Nick's camera was 2 feet behind him, and some thief came up and took his camera. By the time we realized what had happened, the guy was getting in the getaway car, and sped down Twin Peaks Blvd.
It was a horrible experience! The police arrived within minutes of Nick calling, but the deed had been done.
A big warning to photographers coming to shoot San Francisco! There have been several photographers in the past year who have had their gear stolen, and even been mugged. We are a target with expensive equipment, so please be extra aware!!
This image is a 3 shot panorama taken with a 600mm lens. Each shot was a 2 minute exposure @ F/14 @ ISO 100
