Kmart Discount Store located at 10321 East 21st St. in Tulsa,OK. This store which opened on November 9th 1972 is closing on September 3rd 2017. This store was the first of four stores located in the City of Tulsa and ended up being the last of the four stores in operation. I had the pleasure of meeting an employee known among the crew as "Mrs. Leanne". She had worked at this store since 1977 and had very fond memories of working for the Kmart Corporation. She was heartbroken when she learned of the closure of "her" store but knew the day would come once Eddie Lampert became CEO of the Company. One of her favorite memories was the daily store meetings held in the Kmart Restaurant where the employees and managers would chain smoke discussing the daily blue light specials. The future of the building is unknown.
