Senegal Thick-knee - Burhinus senegalensis

A Senegal Thick-knee keeps a watchful eye for danger in the Gambia, West Africa. This is a stone-curlew, a group of waders in the family Burhinidae. Their vernacular scientific name refers to the prominent joints in the long yellow legs. Large yellow eyes give them a reptilian appearance.
