Barbican / St Giles

St Giles-without-Cripplegate is a medieval church in the Gothic style. Its walls survived the Great Fire of London and German bombing in WW2 (although not much else in this area survived the bombing). It is now surrounded by the Barbican Complex and provided some design cues for the modern buildings; for example note the crenelations on top of Cromwell Tower. (St Giles tower not shown as it is presently under repair). Barbican Estate, City of London.
