Pine Marten
These small mammals, Pine Martens (martes martes), are widespread throughout northern Europe, where they tend to inhabit well-wooded areas. They are most active at night and dusk. Using their keen sense of sight, smell and hearing they prey on other small mammals, birds and insects. They also feed on carrion and fruit.
Human predation and loss of habitat have declined numbers considerably, but nevertheless on the list of threatened species are considered to be of 'least concern' .
Mamy thanks for your visits, comments and favs, which are much appreciated.
