FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP MOCKING ME
I've had the "dbo92785265@%" not having access to database "db92785265" problem ALL DAY. I mean, yesterday. Sometime after noon after I hadn't done anything to alter my MT files (because why would I?), I noticed the comments stopped working. They weren't being saved in my database and I couldn't write new entries. The database username is "dbo92785265", not "dbo92785265@%", but I dunno where the "@%" came from or whether that's the problem. If it is the problem, I dunno where the hell it is or blahdeebloop blah bluh I hate this website.
So I thought...hey I should upgrade. Because I haven't done that in a long time.
But I'm getting the same problem, so this is possible worse than before. Is there an easy explanation why after about three years of using MT on the same website I suddenly get this database user problem OUT OF NOWHERE? I have no idea how I could've caused the error considering that the site was working one minute (while i was innocently twiddling my thumbs...or something) and then not so much the next...and now I guess i've screwed it up.
I've been frustrated with MT many times in the past, so I'm wondering if I should just switch to something else. (I also use wordpress without much problem.)
Uh...anyway, if this is something stupid that's easily fixable, you should tell me. (nod)
UPDATE (8/15): My website is dandy now that I switched to dreamhost. But something funny happened...I actually heard back from my host! Like a gazillion hours after I asked for help. Their response:
Due to security reasons, we only to access the database if the domain is hosted with 1&1, I checked on your domains and your domains seems to be hosted with another company, the onyl advise that I can give you is to point the domain to 1&1 name servers.
AHH, DIIIE!!!!!@#!#
UPDATE (8/16): After 7 (or more) emails to support asking them to give the user all privileges or tell ME how to do it, THEY DIDN'T DO IT OR TELL ME HOW TO DO IT. I decided that if they still didn't tell me after the last email, then they probably never would. I wont show you every email, but here are the last two:
"The reason why you can't connect to the database anymore is that the maximum limit on the size of 100 Mb has been reached. You may check it in MySQL Administration on the Storage Space box."
"Movable Type will be accessible on Linux, if you cant access the Movable type, according to experience that there might be something wrong on the script or the database itself."
Obviously, I'm not getting anywhere. Seriously, this "support" would only be worse if they didnt answer my emails at all. ...Or maybe that would've been better, I'm not sure. I think I said in every email "please change the privileges blah blah", yet they never mentioned changing the privileges for me. ...It's kind of amazing how all my emails could be replied to but not properly answered. OKAY!!!
