Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup, huts established around 1917

This First War hospital was a little unusual for several reasons; first, it was purpose built rather than taking over an existing hospital or other building. Second, it specialised in facial reconstruction for wounded troops from all over the Empire. After the War it was used for rehabilitation, until services were moved to Roehampton. After the Second War it became a general hospital, and still functions as such in the 21st century. For more details, see:-
