SF Victorian

9″ x 12″ Oil on canvas panel

I am in the process of setting up an actual studio in my house that is not in the basement. we are working on plans now. I just got a new easel to use. Not the real nice David Borg easel that I really wanted though. I’ll have to save a little for that one. But this one will be nice. I am really thankful for the time I have been able to paint. I am definitely painting more now than I ever was. Still involved in the sketching as well. Anything to keep the creative flow. I am also encouraging my studio employees to draw and paint as well. Keeps everyone loose and its fun.

This painting was done from a photograph provided on the blog Different Strokes From Different Folks, where artists are encouraged to paint or draw their own interpretations. Well, this is my interpretation of this image of a victorian home in San Francisco. I worked on a black ground for this one which I have tried on a couple other occasions. I like it and I like the results but I am still very much in the exploration stage of using oils and trying to find the right ground and technique that I feel fits me. Let me know what you think.
