Ride share with bikes?

Recently in San Francisco, I took a lunchtime photo on Market Street, a famed avenue in the center of the city. It shows that yes, rideshare bicycles are a real thing in urban areas. And, if these had been available when I worked in SF, I would have used them.

 

But could I avoid that pothole?
