Charon Guarding the River Styx
This is the central bus station in Dublin with buses leaving from here to every far-flung part of the island. The building is wonderfully lit with walls of glass and 1950s architecture. Through the window is the IFSC where the financial services industry for Ireland is based. Its a significant part of the economy and a complete contrast to the old-fashioned station - which in its day was a revolutionary structure. Reflected in the IFSC building is the dome and statue of the Custom House - argued by many to be the most beautiful Georgian building in the city.
