The seven peaks of the Grandes Jorasses are located in the Mont Blanc massif on the border between France and Italy. The steep north face, which rises around 1,200 meters above the Leschaux Glacier, is notorious; along with the north faces of the Matterhorn and Eiger, it is one of the three great north faces of the Alps. Among the approximately 30 routes on the face are some very famous Alpine landmarks.
