Shreveport Mac Users Group, Broadmoor Library
Apples are like the Creoles of the computer world: they are a distinct minority but they have had an impact that goes beyond their numbers.
S'pt-Bossier area Apple enthusiasts have banded together for what you might call Creole fests.
At the January meeting the group was introduced to HD video by Dallas-area
videographer Major Lytton. An Apple Certified Trainer on Final Cut Pro HD with a client list that spans the country, as well as the owner of PixelCuts, L.L.C. (www.pixelcuts.com ), he is a regular presenter at the Apple Store Willow Bend in Plano, TX.
Meetings are held the last Thursday of the month at Broadmoor Library's meeting room. This month’s speaker will be Sam Denison with Time-Warner Cable Shreveport. In addition to being a Mac user, Sam is a High Speed Data Technical Support Specialist for Time-Warner Cable and its Road Runner high speed online service. He will discuss home networking and how to use your Mac as a firewall and wireless base station.
It's a diverse and neat group: there are web designers, advertising types, students, videographers, engineers and other professionals. Check out the members and their profiles, see who's attending the next meeting and get acquainted with princial organizers Thomas Avallone and Colin Davidson at the SMUG site.
