Stephen Perkins Interviews John Densmore

John Densmore (left) spoke with Stephen Perkins (right) about his career with The Doors as their drummer. (He and Robby Krieger are the only surviving members.) This was also at the L.A. Times Festival of Books, on the USC campus at the Main Stage. Densmore was there to discuss (among other things) his book "The Doors Unhinged: Jim Morrison's Legacy Goes on Trial." As to what that all means, I guess I'll have to get a copy of the book to find out.

Most of you rock fans probably already know Stephen Perkins as the drummer for Jane's Addiction. Perkins also holds the distinction of being born the same year The Doors' first album was released (1967). After the usual banter where two drummers from famous bands traded their techniques, Densmore read excerpts from his book, focusing mostly on the chapter where he played the first album for his parents. More about that in upcoming photo posts.
