It's Library Card Signup Month

Now the Lady of the Echo Park Lake is promoting L.A. County Public Library cards. What happened here is that one of the librarians who works at the Edendale branch of the County Library (not far north of Echo Park) asked to use this photo I took of the statue (taken three years ago) to help promote getting library cards, what with school starting up again. (Yes, the library is closed for now and school is still done online, but it doesn't hurt to remind people the importance of having that precious library card. I know I'm glad I still have mine.)

I was flattered that they asked, especially when they decided against taking a photo with an ugly, grungy sky and thought mine looked far better than what they probably would have gotten anyway. It's time like these I'm glad I have a Flickr account. What I mean, of course, is that someone else out there stands to benefit from my work, and it doesn't hurt to promote what I do as well.
