HMS WESTMINSTER GOES TO ACTION STATIONS
After changing tasking from the Indian Ocean to conducting maritime security in the Gulf region, HMS Westminster's crew decided to blow off some dusty cobwebs and conduct some war scenario and battle damage training.
During the 2 hour serial, the whole Ship closed up into State 1Z, donned their anti-flash (white hood and gloves) and went through various war scenarios utilising the Operations Room, Bridge, Marine Engineers, Weapon Engineers and also the Logistics Department. Whilst the Warfare department fought the war from the Ops Room, the rest of the Ship's Company practiced restoring power to engines and equipment, and also honed their firefighting, first aid and battle damage drills.
HMS Westminster is currently deployed in and around the Gulf Region and Indian Ocean conducting maritime security in a fight against anti-piracy and anti-narcotics. Due to be relieved by her sister Ship, HMS Somerset, HMS Westminster will return to the UK at the end of February.
