Cockpit Box 'n' Bubble
When the bubble canopy first came out, I was frustrated that I couldn't attach it in an extremely rear biased way with just those new hinge plates or 1x1 tiles with clips.
The problem, as can be seen here, is that you either end up having to move the rest of the cockpit forward (defeating the compactness), or have extra bits hanging off the end (defeating the look).
The solution I came up with was not only ugly, but not very strong and it was studs in, which I found annoying.
The new 1x2-1x2 up bracket paired with a down bracket (any kind, really) provides the perfect solution. It gives the needed half plate offset on both the Y and Z axes. I totally forgot about this problem until I was perusing my photostream last night and realized the new bracket would work like a charm.
Only this piece provides this solution.
