Phoenix Weathers the Storm
A massive dust storm moved around the north pole of Mars recently, as seen in this composite of pictures from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. The white dot at 10 o'clock indicates the Phoenix lander's position, and the storm can be seen at about 9:30. The lander had to curtail its activities for a few days until the storm passed.
