Ubicata sui resti del sistema difensivo della rocca, della quale utilizza una torre come campanile, è un edificio religioso del periodo di transizione dal romanico al gotico ed utilizza lo schema ad unica navata, con presbiterio rialzato e cappelle inquadrate da ampi archi ogivali. La chiesa di San Giovanni Battista venne edificata nella seconda metà del XIII secolo e si trova nella parte più alta del paese di Campagnatico in provincia di Grosseto. L'edificio è in stile romanico e presenta una facciata interamente rivestita con travertino e pietra arenaria, sulla quale si apre il portale d'ingresso, preceduto da alcuni gradini; il portale è decorato da un arco a tutto sesto e sormontato da un rosone finemente ornato con fregi. L'interno della pieve è ad unica navata e le cappelle e l'abside sono sormontati da volte a crociera sorrette da possenti pilastri. Su un lato della chiesa sorge la canonica, a pianta esagonale, più volte modificata durante i secoli. All'interno della chiesa è possibile ammirare uno splendido ciborio in legno intagliato, sul quale sono dipinte scene della vita dei SS. Pietro e Paolo, di Gesù e della Vergine, una duecentesca Madonna con il Bambino attribuita a Guido di Graziano, ed alcuni affreschi staccati dal Santuario Mariano di Santa Maria delle Grazie, raffiguranti storie della Vergine di Cristoforo di Bindoccio (1393).

Peter and Paul, of Jesus and of the Virgin, a thirteenth-century Madonna with Child attributed to Guido di Graziano, and some frescoes from the Marian Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie, depicting stories of the Virgin of Cristoforo di Bindoccio (1393).
