Work at it...“Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”
“Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”
Wanna know what I did today?
My day starts out real early at home. Almost everyday, I work out for about 45 minutes; next I get myself a cup of coffee head out to the barns and start out by either saddle up (When I have to work right here at my ol family place) or load up tha_horses and head out depending where I'm gonna be rest of the day.
Depending on where I am; I stop to get breakfast (My favorite meal of the day) before I start my day usually its still dark; or take a break after three to four hours of work and get a break at my favorite places. I watch some news while I eat (by myself or with one of the family who helps out) exchange plans and continue on...
All day long we work with cattle; horses, sheep and some goats but our main work task is cattle. About mid afternoon, I take a break to have some lunch (I like real Mexico food but we can only get what we call: TexMex around these parts unless I'm at home and one of my family members cooks the kind of foods I truly enjoy. Work continues till way past dark and we head home to start the routine all over next day.
Our work is a 24/7 type of situation where we don't have what most people call: A day off! Sunday is about the only day I get to spend time with my immediate family being my wife; my bro and his wife or my sister, her husband or the nieces-nephews who are just as hard working and prefer country life after experiencing first hand city distractions. Out here in West Texas; you have to be a jack of all trades. We live so far from any city that the need to call someone to do something like plumbing electrical etc,. becomes a useless pursuit. We all rely pretty much on ourselves just like my ancestors did many moons ago.
There are those days when our extended family gets together and its at such occasions that we throw caution to wind and have a grand ol time BBQ-ing; rodeo-ing, etc. We work hard but play even harder! I go to the city only when I absolutely have to postponing such trips till I can not avoid it anymore.
When I get my fill of things; I head to the mountains for a one on one time with the supreme being and enjoy some serious chill time alone.
Yup, such is my life and I like it this way.
