Life's full of surprises! Sit & wait, you'll see what I mean. I'm trying on my new pair of boots!
.
What you see is what you get!
Went to visit my good buddy John over at one of his projects out in Northwest Texas where a couple of my nephews are employed; while in the area; Kevin surprised me big time!! He said: I have something for you Ricky; we need to go to Ranchers Supply…we did, he had gotten a pair of boots (my nemesis next to saddles and spurs) which I tried right there and then to make sure one of my spurs set's'd fit (That's another big story thanks to my bro) while I tried my brand new pair of boots; he took some photos...
His gesture got me big time! It's the gift even though I truly appreciate a new pair of boots (Because of the work I do as most of you already know; I wear out a brand new pair in a short period of time; I don’t get rid of any of 'em; simply had resole-reheeled and continue to get as much wear as I can; sometimes, keepin' em' for several years. It takes me about three weeks to break down a new pair to fit my personal like; including riding through our creeks, water up to my knees; sometimes working in mud a foot deep! For this 'ol Texas boy; there’s nothin' more comfortable than a pair of western boots; tall shafts to protect while I ride; cowboy heel to help my ride) I think what got me most; was when he explained the reason for the gift. I have learned time and again: "Never to judge a book by its cover; a man by his boots or a camera by the photos taken as taught by my bro" In this particular occasion, the words ring clearer more than ever! His watery eyes as he explained the reason for the gift were more than I could take...
Thanks Kevin~
Y 'll have a great weekend!!
