Recently my brother and I had to go to the city to get some saddles repaired. While at the city, we visited with a friend at his saddle-tack shop. (The owner has been my bro's friend for some time now...) He’s quick to prepare a fresh pot of coffee anytime friends drop in for a visit; sometimes even linger on as the conversation extends into hours~
The shop reminds me of places non-existent anymore; only in period movies where exploring culture is the main plot ... It's great to sit at a place, where the smells of leather, saddle soap & leather oils permeates the entire area in an almost intoxicating atmosphere conducive to swapping stories; reminiscing about family/friends and great ol times. While we enjoyed some freshly brewed coffee; stories-tips are swapped as precious commodities among those who have reached a state of happiness unique to experienced folks. From my advantage point of view; I could see some of the workers spend their time-energy crafting some excellent leather items including work on some one of-a-kind items fit for the most discriminating individuals. ♪♪♪ Dirt Road ♪♪♪...
In the course of conversation I asked my brother's good friend for some photos of the place; he replied by waving his hand as if saying; have your fill Ricky (He and my brother were deeply involved in family talk; obviously; neither one were anxious to end their conversation nor were willing to allow interruptions ) I took several shots of our friend's place while admiring his craftsmanship on handmade saddles. Some days I consider myself the most blessed man on earth; especially when surrounded by great people; who truly enjoy what they do; deeply involved in a creative atmosphere while I, enjoy a great cup of black steaming hot coffee; watching from a distance how my bro enjoys visiting his friends...
Life's great my friends; enjoy your day~
