Darwin
While spending the day in Ottawa taking photos with my friend Marc back in October 2024, we encountered and chatted with Darwin, owner of Dababy, and creator of Newborn Baby Gifts (Toddler Tees & Varsity Jackets). He has an outdoor tent/display in the Byward Market. Darwin was interested in our film cameras and we had a long conversation about film photography, music and movies. His hat “John Carpenter’s The Thing” sparked a conversation about movies. Darwin was a makeup effects artist working in the film industry back in the 80s. The Thing is a movie near and dear to him in regard to its groundbreaking realism and unique "creature". As you can see from his t-shirt, he confirmed that his favourite band of all time is Led Zeppelin. He gladly posed for me when asked. I also took a few film shots of Darwin with my 1958 Leica M2 which I will post at a later date. We enjoyed our chat and looking at his clever Toddler Tee artwork.
