Pine Grove Pioneer Church - 1878
"The picturesque church was erected by pioneer families on land purchased from Edward and Mariah Major for one dollar and was originally known as the Wilderness Church.
It was served by ministers from Uxbridge, Goodwood and Claremont.
The cross of remembrance in the cemetery was raised in June 1953 to honour unknown and unmarked graves of the Pine Grove pioneers.
The church was unused for many years, until the Pine Grove Church ladies auxiliary arranged to hold special services: Chirstmas, Thanksgiving and the spring.
Pine Grove Church was recently the setting for scenes for the popular TV series Road to Avonlea.
This sign was erected in loving memory of Della Johnson Moore long standing and guiding hand of Pine Grove Church."
