Armadillo

Found in the Americas, placental mammals, these animals have notoriously bad eyesight but keen sense of smell. They eat a variety of insects including grubs, worms, etc. Known for their digging, they have large claws and short legs, but are very quick. They have a leathery armor to protect themselves and will ball up when threatened.
