Colors and Kimonos at the 50th Sakura Matsuri!
After the Cherry Blossom Parade in downtown DC, I highly commend the Japanese Street Festival along Pennsylvania Avenue. The best part for me, connecting with my friend,
Toshio. The weather was amazing and the streets were packed, but we had a good time.
From the website:
The Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival is the largest one-day exhibition of Japanese culture in the United States.
Japanese food and beer, sake, music and dance, arts and crafts, anime and manga, taiko drums, samurai swordsmen, ikebana and bonsai, karate, judo, sumo, aikido, sudoku. No matter what, if it’s Japanese, it’s at the Sakura Matsuri.
In the second image, I like the giant inflatable dog obeying the one way sign.
I guess I should mention: this was taken during the Parade, not the street festival!
