Elmira

Elmira, the second of two Pullman carriages available to hire for camping at Ravenglass station. Its history mirrors that of Maid of Kent described in the next caption. Also originating as an ambulance car it became car 135 in 1948 and 022261 in 1960. It is now officially a Pullman Kitchen First. Sadly there is much corrosion to the underframes and running gear of both vehicles, not helped by the salty atmosphere of their location on the Cumbrian coast.
