The Ceremony of No Instructions

Artist Statement:

This piece exists in a threshold space where ritual meets confusion. The girl has the tools: the apple (choice), the balloon (desire), the rope (action). But no one told her what the rules were. There is no audience. No priest. No script.

 

The backdrop is artificial. So is the sky. But her body is real, and so are her choices.

 

This image speaks to the mythologies we inherit the ones that shape femininity, obedience, resistance and what happens when we outgrow the fables but not the symbols. The Ceremony of No Instructions is a portrait of spiritual improvisation.
