Molasses Redux
Ever since I posted the first version of Molasses, I've wanted to go back and rework the image based on feedback received -- get in closer, ease up on the saturation, etc. As a matter of principle, I revisted the site to get new captures rather than reworking the original RAW files. This is the result.
Avoid the daily grind by Viewing on Black, or view the rest of my photostream on Fluidr.
As revealed in my, ummm, chat with the farmers who own this property (Riggs & Sons), the elder Mr. Riggs used to drive this grinder truck around from farm to farm, processing grain on the spot. According to the story, Mr. Riggs and his grinder truck were an institution in these parts. Molasses runs no more, and as mentioned in the other image, there are about 20 rusted cans of starter fluid sitting on the front seat and floor of this relic. I thought that was a nice touch. Futile, but nice.
I'd like to add a note of thanks to my Flickr friends for giving me such great support and camaraderie, and for providing feedback in a most useful manner.
