1967 - 'Pompey' at Clapham..

SR 4-COR 'Pompey' unit 3150 near Clapham Junction, in February 1967. The rear unit has already been painted in BR Blue, with full yellow ends..

The units were withdrawn from passenger service in 1972, and several cars were preserved, including ones to form a complete unit.

The preserved unit spent some time on the Nene Valley Railway from 1977, where it was hauled by various continental steam locos, and one other driving motor ended up in the front garden of a house near Cheshunt, in Hertfordshire. That car was - until recently - resident at the London Transport Museum Depot at Acton, but is now at the East Kent Railway, with the other 3 cars, forming Unit 3142.
