1968 - Newly-Preserved 'Jubilee'..
LMS 'Jubilee' 4-6-0 5593 ''Kolhapur'' - with new Crimson Lake paint - at Tyseley, in mid-1968. Some of the finishing touches - including fitting the nameplates - are still to be completed.
As steam locos - apart from 4472, which had a pre-existing agreement - were banned from BR mainline tracks after August 1968, the loco was only able to put in appearances at various 'steam days' in BR loco yards and sidings around the UK, and on preserved railways..
Today, the loco is a static exhibit at Tyseley, but has recently been repainted from BR green to LMS crimson (again)..
