1960 – ‘Bananas in the Sun..
Taken on June 19th 1960
Ex-GWR ‘Flying Banana’ DMUs at Tyseley, on a bright sunny day in June 1960, with ‘Express Parcels’’ unit W17W, and one of the passenger units on the left.
W17W had been built by Gloucester RC&W in 1936, and had been withdrawn in January 1959, and was scrapped in the early-1960s.. One of the passenger versions of these 'streamlined' units has been preserved, as well as two of the later 1940s 'angular' ones.
Restored from a faded grainy unfocussed completely orange (Agfa) original..
