Ex-LNER Gresley V2 2-6-2 60885 at Darlington loco shed, on a cloudy day in 1964.
It had entered service in 1939, and was withdrawn in September 1965, and scrapped in October. Only one member of the class has been preserved..
Darlington shed closed to steam in spring 1966, and today (2024) the site is open land, close to 'Teesside University, Darlington'...
