1960 - HAL at the Harbour..
Ex-SR 2-HAL EMUs at Portsmouth Harbour station, on a bright sunny day in July 1960, with unit 2614 and car S10732S nearest the camera. The unit still has the early-BR 'Unicycling Lion' emblem on the side.
These units first entered service in summer 1939, and the remaining units were withdrawn during 1971. A few were converted for departmental and de-icing use, but were later scrapped. Six units were converted for parcels use in 1971, but these only lasted for two more years.. None of the units were preserved.
