1967 - Darlington 'Flying Pig' at Workington
LMS/BR Ivatt 4MT 2-6-0 43073 - built at Darlington works in 1950 - at Workington shed in 1967.
The loco was withdrawn in August 1967, and scrapped in December. Only one example survived, and is based at the Severn Valley Railway.
Workington shed closed to steam in 1968, and was later used for stabling diesel locomotives, and as a wagon repair shop. The building eventually became derelict, and was purchased for a nominal fee in 2004, and the recovered parts are due to be used for a new loco shed for the Great Central Railway at Loughborough, as part of their 'Bridging the Gap' project, which commenced work in 2014.
Restored and enlarged from an unfocussed, grainy, purple-colour-shifted half-frame (16mm) original..
