Water Tank Delivery..

Ex-WD / LNER J94 0-6-0ST 68012 with a train of water tanks - including an antique four-wheeled tender - on the Cromford and High Peak line at Parsley Hay, in the mid-60s. These tanks were left in short elevated sidings alongside the track, to replenish locos as they worked on the line:

68012 was scrapped soon after the C&HP closed, in 1967, and the loco that bears the number today is a similar WD Austerity loco, but not the original...

Today (2019), this location is occupied by a small yard, and the house on the right is still there, although it now has only one chimney.. The entrance to Parsley Hay car park runs roughly where the photographer is standing::
