500 Block Larkin Street (at Turk), Tenderloin - San Francisco, CA

The tire and repair shop located at this corner was torn down and has been replaced by apartments/affordable housing.

One of the cool things about this shop though was that the owners would put messages on the billboard (far right of this photo).

April 25, 2022: I drove past this this site yesterday and the condos/apartments are almost completed. While they're not as ugly as I anticipated, it still isn't as interesting looking as this joint and they're out of character with the neighborhood.

February 10, 2024: I went past this location yesterday on the way to Enterprise Car Rental next door (my car is in the shop).

The apartment/condo building that went up in this location, while out of character for the neighborhood, and blocking this view isn't as hideous as it could have been. Give it a little grime on the exterior bricks and it could look okay in a few years.
