Night at the Drive-in
Sarah and I went to Las Vegas (NM) and caught a drive-in movie this past weekend. Yeah. a drive-in. They're rare beasts. A few working ones still exist in New Mexico. The one in Vegas is EXCELLENT. Worth the drive.
My drive-in story: I always wanted to see a drive-in movie. Always. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. As a kid, no one I knew ever wanted to go to one. We had a 6-screen drive-in here in Albuquerque. Yeah, SIX! Never went. I was so excited to get my driver's license. One of the first things I had planned was to hit the drive-in. Seriously. I'm a big nerd. I was excited.
The ABQ drive-in closed a few months before I got my license. I never saw a drive-in movie till the age of 31.
It was worth the wait.
