Welcome to Lamberton
A large sign featuring the town's railroad heritage welcomes travelers on US Highway 14 to Lamberton, MN while in the distance a westbound Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern train utilizes the former Chicago & North Western tracks through town. I've always wanted to try to get this kind of shot here, but it takes a westbound train on a summer evening when the sun is on the north side of the tracks, not to mention the field in the foreground being planted with soybeans rather than corn. So the train's lengthy delay at Cobden meant I didn't get another shot at scenic Lake Benton, but I did finally get this one.
