Twigs 1.5 - 4(-8) mm diameter. variably rusty tomentose. not angled; bark striate. lower down longitudinally cracking and flaking (not flaking in forma nana). Leaves 4-10 cm broad; drying dark brown with brownish midrib above, venation distinct or not,
grey-brown beneath.
