The Clarkton Bridge over the Staunton River in Halifax County, Virginia, built in 1902, and reportedly the only remaining metal truss structure in Virginia built for highway purposes. The bridge has been closed to vehicular traffic since 1998, and has recently been closed to pedestrian traffic as well. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
