Dedicada a BenBjörn - El Brujo is Back!!

The success of the adventure Poblet Cistercian explains. Cistercian is founded in 1098, and Poblet in 1150, when no one hundred years have passed. The twelfth and thirteenth centuries are crucial in the history of our monastery. In fact, they let us finished the main units of the house: a space beautiful and functional at the same time, the search for God, which has survived almost intact in its entirety. The fourteenth century is still of great accomplishments, and also the decline, slowly but surely. It has been said that the documentation known about the private life of the community does not reflect Poblet, over the centuries, significant deviations from the initial ideal of the founders of Citeaux, and, in turn, founder of Poblet, from Fontfroide. In fact, this, the true story of Poblet, has not yet been written and probably never will be, that of the monks who, day by day, heading psalms, ensured the growth and continuity of the house, the domus Populeti. We could thus explain the succession of days and years to complete the centuries XV, XVI, XVII and XVIII: Poblet, institution, community, monks, seeking to give a new face, different ways to those living in private the heart itself. However, it may not always be done with transparency and the force of the first ideal. The nineteenth century in a society experiencing profound changes, plants, and the gradual abandonment of the monastery looting desert, the seed of a future recovery. A recovery will also make possible the return of the monks in 1940, a return to a purer life forms, more authentic, more deeply Benedictine and therefore also more evangelical. The monks current heirs of the former, we can never thank him enough, because the authenticity is perhaps one of the most important values we can and must offer the men and women of our time.
