Cada paraje de La Vall de Lord es singular por su diversidad paisajística y de especies naturales, y un verdadero valor para todos aquellos que quieran acercarse a la naturaleza. El valle esta rodeado por altas montañas: al norte, la extensa sierra de Port del Comte- unida a la no menos majestuosa sierra del Verd por el Coll de Port- custodia la cima más alta del valle (2.383 m) y también el conocido como Forat(Agujero) de la Bófia, un antiguo pozo natural de hielo que antaño era extraído y comercializado; al oeste, las sierras de Mitges y Pratformiu no llegan a 1.700 m de altitud y al sur, las sierras de Busa, els Bastets, les Roques y la Mola de Lord presentan altas y verticales paredes conglomeradas.Los dos principales ríos que acarician el valle a su paso son el Cardener, que nace en la Coma y la Pedra, y Aigua de Valls, que desciende por el municipio de Guixers. Las diferentes altitudes de las montañas hacen que la flora y la fauna de sus bosques y ríos sea amplia y variada.
