Today I took a total of 70 pictures, this happen to be number 24 out of those 70. I rather liked the contrasting light on the steps caused by the harsh July sun, with a bit of blue sky creeping out at the top. I knew though that with such striking contrast on the stairs I would either have to do a dreaded *crop* to remove the sky or convert to black and white. My answer was simple as I turned the image to black and white with minor levels and color tweaks. What I like best about this image is how black the black is, its like a midnight oil kind of color. One can not make out detail in the lower half of the step, but then you can see all kinds of textures and imperfections on the other side. Slightly curving upwords fading to the sky, which came out wonderfully in this edit. Between todays shot and yesterdays, im finally starting to get back into the groove of shooting and being happy with my shots. I am my worst critic at that, which could be the death of me in the end: But I didnt delete a single image from my card today GO ME :D.

On a side note, if your from the Madison area make sure to pick up a copy of the Isthmus paper (its free for goodness sakes!). Our very own KAPn craig is a feature story and quite a good read. I ran into him downtown today and he mentioned it to me so now I am doing the good favor and fowarding it to you!
