While out wrapping up my photo walk, as I'd been out for countless hours (or so it felt); I came across a man strumming a guitar on State. While busking is legally accepted, and more often then not people donate coins the cases of a variety of instruments; not many actually stop to read/listen to the artist. I took a seat and listened for a little longer. Once it appeared the tune was over, I introduced myself to the musician I learned to be Christopher Daly. A recent mayor candidate, campaigning at what some may consider the heart of the city; State Street. Alive with a warm summer breeze, plenty of families and new students alike took the time to stop and donate into his case. I asked if I would be allowed to snap a photo of him for my 608 strangers project, as he is not only a new face to me but maybe a new face for many Madisonions. He agreed, and we took about a half dozen photos before I found myself satisfied with the photo that best told the scene on State this August eve.
We parted no longer strangers, but as one less unknown face in the crowd on the isthmus. I really have grown to enjoy getting to know so many new and unique people since joining the 100 strangers project. It really helps jump outside my normal comfort zone, and I suggest you too check it out and give it a go! The best part of the challenge in finding 100 strangers is the no deadline, while I don't feel compelled to end my ever ongoing 365 project, it's nice to have the freedom to post when inspiration strikes.
