3900 Calculator

Some of the 25 unique MOS Semiconductors designed for the 3900 Calculator by General Micro-electronics (GMe) in Santa Clara. Key personnel from this company went on to found or co-found several other chip companies at the beginning of the Silicon Valley era here in the San Jose area. GMe was acquired by Philco Ford while this calculator was moving toward production, as additional capital was needed and the Venture Capital companies were not yet lining Sand Hill Road.

This unit was considered a production unit as the PCB count had been reduced to just two.
